"Indentured Servitude of the Soul" symbolizes the angst of self-imposed constraints, representing the experience of continuing on in a job, relationship, way of being or belief system long after it has ceased to further the growth of our spirit or true self. We may remain beholden to the prior structure out of a sense of responsibility, accountability, guilt, financial restraints or being torn between leaving something which used to bring us joy and making the leap into the new direction our spirit needs, thereby continuing to "pay off our debt" long after we've "paid in full". In so doing, we remain in the experience of being bound, when in fact, the only restraint is wholly self-imposed.
